FEED ME
Based on a poem and inspired by a series of fantasies voiced by Queer People of Color, “Feed Me” is a coming-of-age art film that celebrates black and queer intimacy, sensuality, and pleasure. This film is a part of an ongoing exploration and practice of ‘pleasure activism’ by which black joy, desire, and pleasure are necessary practices, especially for queer black women and their communities. FEED ME imagines the sights, sounds, tastes, and smells of this romantic realm, independent and liberated from narratives and representations of oppression.
This project emerged from a collaborative process, including a series of facilitated conversations and a community call in which queer artists submitted poetic fantasies that were woven into FEED ME the poem.
